The Professional-Technical strand of the Partnerships in Education (PIE) Conference will provide workshops and industry tours in specific content areas. Other sessions will focus on the integration of academic and contextual learning, exploration of tomorrow’s jobs, and identifying ways to help high school students’ transition from secondary to postsecondary to the workforce.

The Interactive Web - Flash Application

The session is dedicated to learning the various tools of web development and focusing specifically on the powerful web development software Flash. Jimmie O’Harra, one of North Idaho College’s webmasters, will teach and allow time for attendees to apply their new found “Flash” knowledge to building a website during this two-day training. (Note: This session will take place in room 124 of LCSC’s Sam Glen Complex focused towards Business Technology & Skilled and Technical Science Instructors.).  Space is limited to 20 computers.

This session is designed to refresh existing SolidWorks software instructors on its basic features. This two-day training will take the user from the drawing board to the milling process. Information will be provided on basic example projects that are included in the classroom. This is a presentation about the technical math program at LCSC.  We think this math sequence could be moved down to the high school level and help students pass standardized tests in Idaho and Washington.  It is based on problems that we have encountered and solved in math remediation at LCSC.
